Pui Kiu College Students Actively Participate in Legislative Council Elections, Practicing Civic Responsibility
The seventh Legislative Council election of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was successfully held in December 2025. Over thirty student ambassadors from Pui Kiu College took part in the election as volunteers for the Election Committee. They engaged with the community by distributing promotional materials in Tai Wai, encouraging citizens to vote and fulfil their civic rights and responsibilities.
Personal Experience and Insights
Through this valuable service-learning experience, students gained a deeper understanding of social participation. Initially feeling somewhat nervous, they were met with friendly responses from the public, particularly during sincere interactions with community elders. This inspired a genuine appreciation for the shared concern across generations regarding Hong Kong's future. Each positive feedback from citizens reinforced their understanding of social cohesion.
From Care to Responsibility: Cultivating Future Leaders
This activity helped students realize that actively caring for society and participating in public affairs is crucial in developing civic awareness. They acknowledged that the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong require the collective effort of every citizen, with the younger generation bearing the responsibility of shaping the community's future.
Pui Kiu College is committed to fostering a sense of national pride and social responsibility among students. By supporting and organizing their participation in significant social matters, the college encourages students to integrate classroom knowledge with social practice. Through small actions, they aspire to become responsible citizens who contribute to the development of Hong Kong and the nation.
